As a candidate for the role of Web Master, I bring with me valuable experience in web development, having honed my skills through various projects and endeavors. Notably, I contributed to the design and development of the ASA Jeopardy night last year, showcasing my ability in web design and development. My commitment to this role knows no bounds, and I am wholeheartedly dedicated to giving it my all. I am eager to collaborate with other exec members to nurture and expand our community, leveraging our collective strengths to further our positive impact. With utmost dedication, passion, and sincerity, I pledge to carry out this role to the best of my abilities, ensuring that our online presence reflects the vibrancy and unity of the MIT African community.
My Vision for the Role
As Web Master for the MIT African Exec Team, my vision is to boost engagement on our website by teaming up with the ASA exec to revive the ASA blog on Medium. We'll share cool stuff like stories about our award winners, daily life as an African at MIT, and updates on events—anything our community wants to share! Plus, I'll collaborate with other exec members to beef up our website's resources, like updating the first-year survival guide, which now features my new favorite quote, "If you want to travel, have sense... and money." I'll also add guides on stuff like taxes for internationals and lists of scholarships or conferences they can apply for.I will also ensure our website stays updated with the events held by the ASA and affiliated clubs like BSU across campus, because unity is key! Plus, let's take our Jeopardy night game to the next level—because who doesn't love a little ego boost, right? Together, let's transform our website into the ultimate destination for all things entertaining, enlightening, and community-driven!
